Malabar trogon Male

The Malabar trogon (Harpactes fasciatus) is a species of bird in the trogon family. It is found in the forests of Sri Lanka and peninsular India. In India it is mainly found in the eastern Ghats, hill forests of central India and in parts of the eastern Ghats. The male has a slaty black head and breast with a white border to the black bib separating it from the crimson on the underside. The back is olive-brown to chestnut.The female lacks the contrasting black and crimson and has only a slightly darker head and breast that shades into the olive brown on the back while the crimson of the underside of the male is replaced by ochre. This is classified as least concern by IUCN.

Sea Scape Goa

A late evening just after view of the Goa sea scape. Shot with nikor 18-140mm lens + 9 stop neutral density filter. The ND filter helped to even out the waves and make it a smooth flow.

Pallid Harrier Female

The pale or pallid harrier (Circus macrourus) is a migratory bird of prey of the harrier family. It breeds in southern parts of eastern Europe and central Asia The female is brown above with white upper tail coverts, hence females and the similar juveniles are often called “ringtails”. Her underparts are buff streaked with brown. Pallid harriers hunt small mammals, lizards and birds, surprising them as they drift low over fields and moors.and winters mainly in India and southeast Asia.
