Indian Fox

Vulpes bengalensis

The Bengal fox is seen here with a feed, a chicken. The fox has long pointy ears and a bushy tail. The fox as it was feeding allowed us pretty close and that meant that with a 500mm on a D500 it was a little too tight framing. To make the composition work I have not included a small part of the tail in the frame. Apart from birds fox feeds on rodents, reptiles, insects and fruits too. The Indian fox or the Bengal fox is endemic to the Indian subcontinent, it is classified as least concern as per IUCN. The diminishing habitat – grasslands and semi arid plains. This species avoids the forests and area where it is difficult to dig a den.
