The fox is a omnivore belonging to the dog family and is smaller than a wild dog. There are 37 species of foxes found in the wild across the world. The true foxes that belong to the vulpes genus and there are about 12 of them. The foxes in many cultures and mythology are associated with cunning, deceit and trickery. The fable of Fox and the Grapes is an example of this when rather than admitting defeat of not being able to reach for the grapes, the Fox calls it sour / unripe grapes. As you could see in this image foxes have vertical pupils much like cats while dogs have rounded pupils. Another interesting fact about fox is that it can retract its claws like a cat.
