Golden Oriole, Thattekad

The Indian golden oriole is very similar to the Eurasian golden oriole but has more yellow in the tail and has a paler shade of red in the iris and bill. The male has the black eye stripe extending behind the eye. It feeds on fruits, nectar and insects. It is classified as least concern by IUCN.

Golden browed bulbul, Thattekad

It is also called as Golden browed bulbul. An yellow and olive bird that has a distinct yellow brow and consequently the name. It is a forest canopy dwelling bird and found in the western ghats of India and Srilanka. They primarily feed on insects and berries, it is classified as least concern by IUCN.

This bird is related to night jars and is a nocturnal bird. It is not disturbed even if you approach closely. It prefers a specific roosting spot and is found there for months together. This species is found in the Western Ghats of southwest India and Sri Lanka. Its habitat is tropical forest, usually with dense undergrowth. It is classified as least concern by IUCN.
