As I told you last month,  I am continuing the talk on global warming. Last month I told you about the factors that cause global warming. Now, let us see, what are the effects of global warming, how could we control that, etc.

I think you might have watched global news on television about climate and weather conditions. Following image is a landscape of glaciers, have a look. Glaciers are the ice masses, created by  snow. Actually, it is an accumulation of ice, one layer above the other, that has been happening for thousands of years. Glaciers are the source of the perennial rivers which have water through out the year. Because of the raising temperature due to global warming, the glaciers around the world is melting fast, and there is a significant increase in sea level. If the problem persists, people might lose the water sources too.

Don’t worry, we have hope, still. By changing our activities, we could  have a better future. Yes, believe me kids, your small efforts could make big changes.

bennyAs you know, CO2 is the main cause of Global warming. Plant a tree, if you have some space in your garden. Encourage your friends and neighbors too! Do you waste paper for your silly scribbling? Try to reduce that, through which you could save some trees. Nearly 70% of the electricity, all over the world is produced by burning fossil fuels. So, try to avoid the wasteful consumption of electricity. If your school is in a walkable distance, try to avoid a car ride. Use a cycle to reach nearby places. A good exercise too! Find out your own ways to consume less electricity and fuel. Create this awareness to your friends and neighbors to make a big change!

You know, as a good effort, a movement called Earth Hour is celebrated every year on March 19, 2016 from 8:30 PM- 9:30 PM, in which the participants all around the world switch of the lights in their home, office, etc., Participate in this event and contribute your part to save our planet from climate change!

OK Kids, Its time to say Good Bye! Meet me in the next edition of DF WildKids! Bye for now!
