Thoughts of Benny the Little Bear!

Hi Kids, I’m Benny the little bear! Welcome to my page! As you may know, April 22 is celebrated as Earth day and varies awareness and conservation programs were held all over the world, last month.

 Earth day is celebrated from the year 1970. First Earth day, started with an awareness rally in US and Senator Gaylord Nelson was the founder of the Earth Day. Thanks to modern world, now the earth day is celebrated globally and many people have understood the significance of this day.

Through my friends all over the world, I heard many more interesting stories on the Earth day celebrations across countries. Some people planted trees while someone conducted awareness programs on afforestation. Some people demonstrated the creation of earth friendly materials from earthen pots to recycled products. Some people sang Earth  day anthem too.  One major thing I could see! People of our planet showed their responsibilities to save this planet for the future generations.

As a historical event, 175 nations have signed in the climate deal on the Earth Day, (April 22 ) this year. This is definitely a progressive approach to save our planet from climate change. This event also shows that many of the nations are interested to save our planet from the natural and man-made environmental challenges.

Some of my friends wrote me about the various celebrations and their own activities to support Earth Day. Just sharing some of them.. One girl named Mia wrote that she made a dog house for her pet “Doody” using the plastic bottle cans and she is happy to create something useful from trash. Thus, she supports the recycling of the plastic products. Another boy, Ganesh from India has conducted a campaign in his apartment and created awareness among his friends about the importance of waste segregation and disposal methods that saves the environment from land pollution. Danny, a little kid from South Africa has suggested his father to buy an electric scooter instead of a normal scooter which will reduce some air pollution. I just got amazed about those ideas. I wrote the following reply to my friends……

 Dear friend,

Got your email. Really amazed by your wonderful activities on Earth Day. But remember one thing. For the people who care for our planet, Every day is Earth Day because all our activities either good or bad affect our environment and world. It is our responsibility to save our planet. Our planet will be proud for having such a responsible kid like you…
